Food for Thought

Japanese Hand Roll? Another great discovery at Audrey Bakery is this thing. I saw that many people were posting it on Yelp, and when I was at the bakery this morning, I saw many people buying it. So, I had to get one. It’s ham and other stuff rolled into flaky bread. It was so good that I wolfed it down and had no time to properly analyze what was in it; hence “other stuff.” What puzzles me is why this is called “Japanese hand roll.” I don’t recall seeing anything like this at Japanese bakeries. Besides, what would the Japanese call it? “Hand roll”? That wouldn’t make much sense
