There used to be butchers like this in the East Village. It’s interesting to note that moving into Manhattan no longer symbolizes moving up on the social ladder. People move out of Manhattan for better life. Manhattan doesn’t have any communities to speak of. It’s an island of temporary residence. Living here feels sort of like living in a hotel and seeing people come and go
