Welcome to Martin Van Buren High School, where we meet the demands of cutting-edge technology featuring our programs in Pre-Med/Pre-Nursing, Engineering/Robotics/Design, and Pre-Law/Leadership. Prgram Description
  • Exploring careers in the field of medicine, Pre-Med, nursing, physical therapy, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Internships at Long Island Jewish Medical Center with medical hands-on-training. College-credit courses offered through CUNY Queensborough Community College, and York College.
  • Courses prepare students for careers in engineering through instruction in advanced technology in the field of robotics and computer programming, or audio engineering, web design, and computer animation. Students participate in the NYC FIRST Robotics Competition which includes workshops and a number of college-accredited courses at Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly).
  • Classes in civil, criminal and constitutional law. Students are prepared for careers in criminology, forensics, law, and toxicology. Partnership with CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
  • Zoned students will have opportunities in comprehensive core academic courses offering an extensive menu in the Arts with sequences in Animation, Computer-Aided Design, Visual Arts and Music.
