Brooklyn Studio Secondary School believes that all students are capable of being strategic learners. We believe in teaching students how to learn. Our school community works tirelessly to achieve this through a curriculum that challenges and supports all of our students through individualized learning. Although considered a small school, we pride ourselves on offering programs comparable to a large school. Our students have the opportunity to take numerous electives, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses and CUNY College Now. Additionally, students can participate in extracurricular activities including clubs, performance ensembles, and athletic teams.
Prgram Description
  • Small group instruction on band instruments. Participation in concert bands. Electives in Music Theory, Music History, Sight-Singing; Preparation for State adjudications. Evaluations of solo and ensemble work.
  • A career-based, interactive technology program with an emphasis on fine arts, computer graphics, digital photography/filmmaking, web-design, and internships.
  • Students will select either the Instrumental Music Program or the Digital Communications Program by the spring term of ninth grade.
