Lyons Community School

We prepare students for college, healthy adulthood, and lifelong learning. As a NYS Performance Standards Consortium school, students are exempt from taking all Regents exams except the ELA for graduation. Instead, students present final Performance Based Assessment Tasks (PBATs). Ninth and tenth grade students participate in roundtables where they present a final piece of work to staff, families, and visitors in small groups. Eleventh and twelfth grade students complete semester-long projects in a given content area. All students have an advisor and are offered elective classes to pursue their individual academic interests. We offer courses taught by visiting artists and a physical wellness program, including sports, fitness, and dance.
