All students will graduate on time with viable college and career options. Our community uses positive reinforcement for academic excellence, attendance and effort to meet this goal. Our college and industry partnerships provide our students with opportunities to graduate with industry certifications and college credits. We are proud to be the only CTE school in the Brooklyn STEAM Center. Students are exposed to all CTE programs in the 9th grade: Computer Information Systems and Repair, Culinary, Electrical Installation and Practice, and Multimedia Internet Technology. Upon completion of a three-year course of study, they are eligible to receive a New York State Technical Endorsement in our approved CTE programs.

Prgram Description
  • Students study HTML webpage programming, Javascript, image editing, motion graphics, visual design principles, advanced motion editing, mobile application development and website hosting. Industry certifications include Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Flash.
  • The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene provides a free curriculum online. Students in Culinary programs take fifteen lessons in order to prepare for the exam which is given off site at a testing facility. If students complete the 15 hours of instruction the school will register the students for the exam. Students who take and pass the exam will earn the Food Protection certification.
  • Students study residential and commercial wiring and application, solar energy and applications, energy auditing, fiber optic and network cabling, and motor controls. Industry certifications include C-TECH and OSHA.
  • The Brooklyn STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Center provides a CTE focus on a range of courses in four industry areas: information technology, graphics, engineering, and architecture. The program includes innovative technical training leading to certification and opportunities to earn college credit.Students will also haveopportunities to complete work-based learning sequences (e.g. internships) to provide pathways to employment and/or post-secondary credentials.
  • Students develop skills in computer repair and maintenance, network design, and infrastructure support with a focus on supporting network security. Industry certifications include IC3, A+ and CISCO CCENT.
