Overview Paragraph

The Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice (SLJ) offers a challenging academic program with an emphasis on law and justice. We offer a nationally recognized college and career readiness curriculum. Through integrated partnerships, supportive relationships, and rigorous course-work, students develop strong communication skills and an understanding of the role law plays in society. SLJ students participate in the democratic process through Student Council, Town Hall meetings and Youth Court. SLJ graduates are strong readers and writers who think critically, work cooperatively, and question constantly. Families and community members stay involved thorough an open door policy, frequent home contact by advisors, and monthly family events.
