Overview Paragraph

Our school has a performing and visual arts program that serves a diverse population through a comprehensive range of academic and supportive curricula. We offer a nurturing and supportive academic learning environment. Dr. Susan S. McKinney Secondary School of the Arts is a part of the first cohort recognized in New York City as a Nationally Certified Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) school. To ensure that students are College and Career Ready, we have implemented iLearn courses to aid under-credited students in fulfilling their credit requirements. Based on our work with School Time Labs, we have programmed a College and Career Readiness course for all high school students with goal extending to grades six through eight.
