The political elites realized long ago that relevance of facts is irrelevant in politics. So, they began using whatever facts they can use to beat their opponents. Their irrelevant facts worked just fine, so they recently asked themselves, if the relevance of facts does not matter, why do they need to be facts at all? It’s like, while making fake Louis Vuitton handbags in China, worrying about whether the leather should be real or not; they realized it’s a silly thing to worry about. That’s how the “post-truth” era began.
